We’re dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with autism, developmental disabilities and special needs. We believe the right clinical services are the foundation of a productive life filled with opportunity and possibility for individuals and their families.

Our experienced clinical team performs comprehensive assessments and services that are tailored to meet clients’ and their families’ needs. Our services are provided in a variety of settings including the home, our clinics, and in the community.

Parent Led ABA

Parent Led ABA is a methodology that targets intensive parent engagement and implementation for a determined period of time, followed by a less intensive maintenance period.

Just like our other ABA programs, Parent Led ABA is overseen by highly trained experts in ABA, a Clinical Manager/BCBA, and supported by a Program Supervisor, BCaBA or Master’s level practitioner. The supervision team ensures that goals are achievable, conducts ongoing reassessments and provides guidance and support to the parent.

The goal of Parent Led ABA is to give parents the tools to support and teach their child using basic ABA skills.

Group and Individual Applied Behavior Analysis

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a common treatment option for individuals who have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). It is a scientific discipline focusing on meaningful changes in behavior through the analysis, design, implementation and evaluation of social and other environmental modifications.

Clients meet with a practitioner in a natural environment. This can be in one of our clinics or in their home or another location in the community. Clients focus on increasing skills such as communication, social interactions and self-reliance, ability to focus and follow instructions and decreasing problem behaviors such as self-injury or outbursts.

Social Skills Groups

Our Social Skills Groups are focused on teaching and reinforcing social skills development through structured social skill building activities. These groups are uniquely designed and facilitated in groups of school-age children, adolescents and young adults in our centers throughout Northern California. These groups focus on developing and growing age appropriate abilities such as interacting with new people, developing friendships, dealing with feelings and problem solving.

Early Intervention

Our Early Intervention services offer a comprehensive, research-based treatment program for children from birth to three years of age diagnosed with or showing signs of a developmental delay, or considered at high risk of a developmental delay.

We use a play-based, interdisciplinary and family-centered model in which all services are provided in the child’s natural environment, including the child’s home, family daycare, childcare center or other community-based sites. Our Early Intervention staff includes specialized instructors, physical therapists and speech therapists.

Adult Services

Kaleidoscope is a community-based adult day program that offers specific programming for adults with special needs including employment readiness, independent living skills and community inclusion. Participants work with coaches to help them pursue their interests, define their goals and live as independently as possible.

Speech Therapy

Our Speech Therapy services work to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat deficits in speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. Speech language pathologists work with clients to improve speech and language skills through a variety of evidence-based treatment approaches.

PLAY Project™

The Play and Language for Autistic Youngsters (PLAY) Project is an evidence-based and intensive intervention model for young children between 18 months and six years with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). It is parent-implemented and designed to improve relationships between parents and their child with autism and enhance the child’s social and functional development.

Respite and Family Engagement Programs

Caring for an individual with special needs 24-hours a day can be a challenge. Families can find a break or respite through support services that enable parents to partake in recreational, social, or other important activities with siblings or with each other. Easterseals Bay Area is proud to offer Respite Services that enable caregivers and the people they care for the opportunity to relax, recharge, and reconnect. Respite programs offered include Parents Night Out and Afternoon at the Movies.
