Board of Directors
Carina Ohara is a Hawaii “local girl” graduate of Sacred Hearts Academy, UH Manoa, and the University of San Francisco School of Law, who lived in several major mainland and international cities and traveled extensively throughout the world before returning Hawaii where she is now Senior Associate General Counsel for Hawaiian Electric Company.
While away Carina rose to become Senior Counsel at Bechtel Corporation in Houston, TX. Her duties included supporting worldwide engineering and construction projects for the oil, gas and petrochemical industry, and managing legal and risk issues as a member of Bechtel’s corporate litigation group. She is an active member of the Hawaii Bar Association and of the American Bar Association, for which she served on the governing committee for the Forum on Construction Law.
Carina is happily married and the proud mom to her schipperke (dog) and three cats. She is also an active member within her community, evidenced by her volunteer service as a member and chair of two committees for the Easterseals Hawaii board of directors.
